The 21st China Coal & Mining Expo 2025 will be held in Beijing China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Pavilion) and Capital International Convention and Exhibition Center from October 28 to 31.

As a core equipment provider in the coal mining field, SGR will exhibit its independently developed N series planetary gear reducers, C series double enveloping worm gear reducers and high-load turntables at booth W3328, exploring with you the intelligent breakthroughs in the coal mining industry.

(1) An international event for the coal mining industry

The biennial China International Mining Exhibition was first held in the early 1980s. Since its inception, it has always attracted great attention from mining colleagues at home and abroad. After more than 40 years of development, it has now become a coal mining industry event with significant global influence.

The top of China Coal & Mining Expo 2025 is “New Quality Empowerment, Intelligent Future", focusing on new equipment, new technologies and new products in China's coal mining industry. The exhibition area is expected to exceed 150,000 square meters, with more than 1,000 exhibitors and professional visitors expected to exceed 150,000.

It is worth mentioning that this exhibition will use 8 indoor exhibition halls of China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall) and 2 exhibition halls of Capital International Convention and Exhibition Center, totaling 10 theme exhibition halls. The two exhibition halls are closely adjacent to each other. During the exhibition, they will achieve through-connection, linkage operation, seamless docking, and many highlights.

(2) Key applications of N series planetary gear reducers in coal mining

The coal mining industry is one of the key application areas for SGR' reducer series related products. The N series planetary gear reducers developed and produced by SGR are widely used in a variety of equipment and systems in the coal mining field due to their high torque density, high load capacity, compact structure, high transmission efficiency, strong impact resistance, and modular design.

Key application areas include:

1. Coal mining machine traction and cutting system

In coal shearers, the N-series planetary gear reducer serves as the main drive unit, converting the motor's high-speed rotation into low-speed, high-torque output to drive the crawler or pin-track system, ensuring stable operation in complex geological conditions. Planetary gear reducers are also often integrated into the rocker arm of the cutting section to drive the drum's high-speed rotation for efficient coal breaking.

2. Scraper conveyor drive device

Conveyors in coal mining have the critical task of transporting the raw coal mined from the working face out of the wellhead continuously, efficiently, and safely. Their drive systems often require planetary gear reducers to cope with chain tensions of up to hundreds of tons and impact loads caused by frequent starts and stops.

SGR's N series high-torque planetary gear reducers have been operating in many large coal mines and are the key guarantee for large-scale, long-distance and continuous transportation of conveyors.

3. Roadheaders and continuous miners

The cutting head, loading unit, and travel mechanism of a roadheader all rely on planetary gear reducers to provide powerful power. 4. Transfer machine and crusher

SGR's N series planetary gear reducers also play a huge role in driving transfer machines and crushers, ensuring that large pieces of coal rock are efficiently crushed and continuously transported.

It is worth mentioning that the gears of the N series planetary gear reducers developed and produced by SGR are made of 20CrMnTi carburized and quenched before grinding. They have the advantages of multi-tooth load diversion, smooth and reliable operation, and high mechanical efficiency. They have obvious advantages in the application of coal mining and are trusted and recognized by customers in the mining machinery field.

In addition to the N series planetary gear reducers, SGR also exhibited other reduction transmission products with excellent performance. Among them, the C series  double-enveloping toroidal worm gear reducers feature a multi-tooth meshing between the worm and worm wheel. The worm is made of 20CrMnTi carburized and quenched before grinding, and the worm wheel is made of high-performance alloy bronze, which can maintain long-term wear resistance, high transmission efficiency, and long life. Compared with cylindrical worm and worm gear pairs of the same specifications, the load capacity and transmission efficiency are significantly improved. At high speed ratios, it has a mechanical self-locking function, which can effectively improve the safety performance of the lifting machine.

In the domestic market, SGR's planetary gear reducers and double-enveloping toroidal worm gear reducers are widely used in horizontal directional drilling, mining chain saws, metal rolling equipment, marine auxiliary machinery, small hydropower generation, and other equipment.
