Project Case ：SGR planetary gear reducer successfully deployed on Russian tourist boats

At the beginning of this year, a customer from Russia made a special trip to SGR 's production base in Jinshan District, Shanghai, for an on-site inspection. The purpose of the trip was clear: to find a planetary gear reducer with high transmission efficiency, high reliability, and low noise for a new type of inland waterway tourist boat. After in-depth technical exchanges and on-site prototype testing, the customer highly recognized SGR's product performance and manufacturing capabilities.

Five months later, with the arrival of early summer, this batch of planetary gear reducers for tourist sightseeing boats, custom-designed by  SGR, have been successfully delivered and is operating stably on tourist sightseeing boats in Russia, marking the official entry of SGR products into the high-end marine application field in Russia.

What kind of speed reducer is needed for tourist sightseeing boats?

Tourist sightseeing boats are vessels designed to provide sightseeing services on the water. They typically emphasize smooth operation and low noise levels to create a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience.

Among common transmission devices, planetary gear reducers employ a multi-planetary gear design, resulting in a compact structure, smooth gear meshing, uniform load distribution, low vibration, and low noise during operation, significantly outperforming ordinary parallel shaft or worm gear reducers. All of the planetary gear reducers for tourist boats produced by SGR underwent a complete run-in test before leaving the factory, ensuring their quality. Furthermore, the technical team from SGR provided remote installation and commissioning guidance to the Russian side, truly achieving high-quality delivery.

Recently, the N-series planetary gear reducers developed and manufactured by SGR have successfully passed RS (Russian Maritime Register of Shipping) certification, becoming one of the few Chinese reducer brands with Russian ship certification qualifications, laying a solid foundation for SGR to expand its market in Russia and surrounding CIS countries.
