What is the double enveloping worm gear reducer?

In the family of mechanical transmission devices, the planetary gear reducer is like a dazzling pearl, shining brightly and attracting the attention of the machinery industry.  (1) The history of the double enveloping worm gear reducer.

When it comes to double enveloping worm gear reducers, we have to mention plane worm gear transmission.

As early as 1922, plane worm gear transmission was produced in the United States. In 1971, the Machinery Plant of Shougang Group in China created the first set of plane enveloping worm gears based on the manufacturing of helical plane worm gears, and officially used them in industrial production. Therefore, the double enveloping worm gear reducer is undoubtedly a transmission device invented by the Chinese.

(2) Advantages of  the double enveloping worm gear reducers

The double enveloping toroidal worm gear reducer is mainly composed of a plane double enveloping toroidal worm, a worm wheel and a housing. The plane double enveloping toroidal worm uses a plane as the parent surface, and through relative circular motion, includes the tooth surface of the toroidal worm, and then uses the tooth surface of the worm as the parent surface, and envelops the tooth surface of the worm wheel through relative motion.

Compared with cylindrical worms, the double enveloping toroidal worm gear reducer has two obvious advantages.
